7-3-11: Rolling Thunder

July 7, 2011

7-3-11, Sunday

ROLLING THUNDER

All the lifts in this Rolling Thunder workout were done using the “water trick” method.

-166×1-both hands     *Notes: Both full pulls.

-192×1-both hands     *Notes: Both full pulls again.  PR lefty by about 10lbs!  Held it at lockout righty for a 2-second pause.  No pause at the top lefty though.

-202×1-right hand, -MISS-left hand     *Notes: Full pull righty and got about 1/2″ lefty.  No pause at the top righty.  Not that one is needed for me to consider it a successful lift.

-205-MISS-right hand, -MISS-left hand     *Notes: Got 1/2″ of movement righty and nothing lefty.

-192×1-right hand, -MISS-left hand     *Notes: Full pull righty and 2″ lefty.  No pause at the top righty.

Very solid Rolling Thunder workout today!  Nice to be over 200lbs again righty.

That’s some strong RT work there mate! Can I ask what is the “water trick” method?

    Cheers Rob

Thanks Rob! The “water trick” is where you pour some water on your hands and then briskly rub your hands together until they get “tacky.” Then you immediately grab the Rolling Thunder handle and briskly rub it until IT gets tacky too. Then you lift! Adds 10-20lbs for me if the conditions are just right. 10lbs is the usual number though.

Thanks for that Ben, I will give this a try next time I’m on the RT. very interesting. Sounds like the next step on from chalk. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be legit in a comp?
